Atatürk’s Visit

 

Atatürk came to Denizli on 4 February 1931. This trip was in his “Great Aegean Trip Program”. On Wednesday ,4 February 1931, the private train, which had left Aydın at 8.10 in the morning, had brought Atatürk at 13.00 to Denizli.

 

 

The people learned his visit two days before had filled the station in the early hours. With the enthusiastic expression and love demonstration of the people he had gotten out of the train, greeted them and come to the party building together with the delegation. After having had a rest here, he had visited the 5. Infantry and 33. Artillery Regiments on Çamlık Road. By his Regiements’ visit there was also Major General Mustafa İzzet, who came from Isparta Province.

 

   


   

After he had visited the military forces, he had come to Teacher’s Training School, joined in the lessons and asked students some questions.

 

He had also visited The Denizli Hospital, talked with the patients and thanked to the chief of staff for the cleaness and well organizing of the hospital.
